Can your fatigue and exhaustion be due to candida, gluten-sensitivity, lactose intolerance, or diet?

Do you always feel exhausted and fatigued? Has your doctor put you through  multiple tests, but all your routine blood work, labs, and medical tests come back normal? You’re told nothing is wrong with  you but you still feel tired all the time.

Here are some possible causes to consider talking to your doctor about:

Systemic Candida (yeast overgrowth):

While everyone has some yeast, for some reason when the body cannot keep it in check it can overgrow. It can invade your body and cause a host of symptoms. One of these is fatigue and exhaustion. The doctor can order a blood test looking for candida to confirm whether you have it.  If so, you can go on a candida cleanse diet to eliminate the candida (die-off) and build up your body’s natural defenses to keep it check. Stay tuned for my posting on what a candida-cleanse diet is and recipes!

Gluten Sensitivity:

There’s another test your doctor can give to see if you have a gluten-sensitivity. Gluten is found in many foods. If this is the cause of your exhaustion, you can go on a gluten-free diet. Stay tuned for my upcoming posting about gluten-free diet choices and recipes.

Lactose Intolerance:

If you are lactose intolerant it means that any foods with lactose can result in symptoms. You can ask your doctor to find out if you are lactose-intolerant. If so, you can avoid foods and supplements that contain lactose, or see if eating Lactaid tablets with eating foods with lactose can alleviate your symptoms.  Future blogs will help you with eating a lactose-free diet with recipe ideas.

Blood Sugar, High Cholesterol and Triglycerides, and High Salt:

Other issues related to too much salt, sugar, or cholesterol and triglyceride levels:

Have your doctor check you for too much salt, too much sugar, or cholesterol and triglyceride levels may form a part of your health issues.

If so, the doctor can prescribe diet and lifestyle changes or if needed, medication.

Sleep Apnea:

Sleep Apnea can cause lack of a proper good night’s sleep interfering with many bodily functions. Having a sleep study can show whether you are getting the proper rest necessary for good health. Sleep Apnea can contribute to feeling tired all day long.

Overall Dietary Issues:

Medical research has been supporting the need for more whole grains, fruits and vegetables, nuts, legumes, and seeds in your diet. If so, you may want to consider a vegetarian or vegan diet to see if you feel better and your exhaustion diminishes.

Combinations: In a future blog post, I will be adding to Ricki’s List and addressing those who suffer from all the above. I have been on a candida-cleanse, yeast-free, sugar-free, gluten-free, vegan and low-salt, low fat diet for over two months now and have lived to tell about it! Yes, it is possible. And my family and I have lost between 10-14 pounds in 2 months, feel better, are no longer exhausted and fatigued all the time, have less headaches, and feel so much better.  I found products that are yeast-free, sugar-free, gluten-free, vegan with low salt and low fat and have devised a weekly menu and recipes that are actually gourmet and delicious.

The photo above shows a dinner served on a Celebrity Equinox cruise in the dining room was gluten-free, yeast-free, lactose-free, salt-free, egg-free, and vegan. The white on the right is potato, and the white in the bow with nuts is vegan sushi rolls. The brown on the left is grilled eggplant. Stay tuned for my foodie pictures taken at many restaurants in hotels, spa resorts, cruises, and restaurants to make your journey exciting. If you are a pizza lover like me, there are even places you can get gluten-free, yeast-free, dairy-free, and egg-free vegan pizza and pasta.

In fact I am going to add to Ricki’s List the names of restaurants, hotels, cruises, stores, and products that support any combination of gluten-free, yeast-free, sugar-free, lactose-free, low salt, low fat, egg-free, and organic vegan and vegetarian meals to support your journey to health and energy!

Note and disclaimer: I am not a medical doctor and am writing from my research and experience, so always follow your doctor’s advice on any of the above research.

Stay tuned for my future blogs to help you if your doctor finds you have any of the above conditions, some or all of them! You can survive a gluten-free, yeast-free. candida cleanse, sugar-free, lactose-free, vegan or vegetarian diet, with low salt and low fat and even enjoy what you eat. (The hardest part was giving up a life-time of soda, especially diet sodas, but I am proud to say I did that too, and actually learned to like drinking water!)

Here’s to your good health,
